Coclé, Panama Project Update No. 3

Volunteers are enjoying the last week in community and getting ready for debriefing. Their last weeks include the Volunteers’ final classes with the niños (children), completing community-based initiative projects and saying teary farewells to their host families. On Monday Volunteers will come into Penonomé and venture to Santa Clara beach for the day where they will enjoy a white sand beach, beautiful blue ocean, and relaxing hammocks. The rest of debriefing will be held in Panama City where Volunteers will have a chance to see the world famous Panama Canal, purchase artesania, and even see the new Harry Potter movie! The Volunteers and Project Staff have had an incredible and dramatic summer together. The newly arrived Volunteers who were previously destined for Honduras have acclimated exceptionally well with their partners, host families, and communities. All of the Volunteers have had an unforgettable summer and the Project Staff could not be prouder of them.

AMIGOS Voices

“The youth of the world need to prepare themselves for a world without borders, and as often as we have the opportunity to intertwine another cultures’ life-experience with our own, we should take it. This is the trend of things, and experiences like AMIGOS will make that transition all the more smooth.”
