Become a Correspondent Volunteer

Correspondent Volunteers (CVs) come from all across the Americas to participate in AMIGOS. Instead of training with a local chapter, CVs are supported by professional staff members at the International Office in Houston.

To be a CV, you must be motivated and have a high level of maturity. CVs complete fundraising and training activities independently with support from International Office staff. CVs are required to attend a gateway training in Miami or Houston immediately prior to their departure to Latin America.

Training Materials and a Fundraising Guide will be provided to help you get ready and raise funds towards your Participation Fee. Assistance in seeking high school or college credit is also available and encouraged.

If you would like to receive more information about AMIGOS by mail, complete our inquiry form with your contact information. For additional questions, please contact AMIGOS via email at info@amigoslink.org or by calling (800) 231-7796.

AMIGOS Voices

“AMIGOS is an extraordinary opportunity to take calculated risks in service of learning and growing. With great risk comes great reward. So, risk challenging yourself more than you thought you could. Risk embarrassment by testing your Spanish, risk trying new foods, and dancing to new music. Risk being open to personal feedback and making positive changes. Risk being a leader among your peers.”
